About Bradley, IL - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Bradley, IL is a small town not far from Chicago, in the county of Kankakee.  Named for the David Bradley Plow Works, this town has agricultural and farming history dating back into the 19th century.  As the years went on, the village became an industrial, blue-collar town with multiple factories in town.  In the 1980’s, many of these factories closed down and times were a bit tough across the Midwest, in general.  These days, this town is a great little suburb.  The town is small, with only about 16,000 residents, and quiet.  It is a perfect place for children and families.  The weather is similar to that of the rest of the Midwest, with seasonal changes.  The area experiences hot summers and cold winters and is ideal for those who love to swim in July and ski in December.

In the last few decades, with the building of malls (like Northfield Square Mall) and other retail space, this town has grown and blossomed pulling itself out of the economic slump of the 80’s. Of course, if you are looking for the big-city shopping experience, Bradley is not far from Chicago where there are many high-end malls and chic urban shopping areas such as: Ford City Mall, The Atrium Mall or The Shops at Northbridge.  A bit of “retail therapy” is the ideal way to spend a cold, winter day in this part of the country.  The Shops at Northbridge is an outdoor shopping area and not an indoor mall so be sure to wrap up in your scarf and gloves if you head out to shop there on a cold day.

While shopping may be some people’s idea of a good time, it is certainly not everyone’s.  This area brings a lot more to the table than simply shopping and malls. If you prefer to spend your time outdoors or if you enjoy physical activity and athletics then there is much to do in this small town.  A large number of parks with a huge variety of activities such as basketball, tennis, playgrounds and more provide family-friendly outdoor fun.  Kankakee River State Park is a large park in nearby Bourbonnais where you can hike, picnic, hunt or fish in the warm months and snowmobile or cross country ski in the winter.  Bourbonnais is also home to Olivet Nazarene University, where the Chicago Bears hold their training camp each year. Each hot summer, the football team spends a little over a month in the village practicing and preparing for the upcoming season. There is something for everyone and for every season!
