About Mokena, IL - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Mokena, IL is a small town outside not far from Chicago.  With a population of about 20,000, the town is quiet and peaceful and a great commuter city or suburb choice for those who work in Chicago.  With weather similar to the rest of the region, Mokena experiences warm springs, hot summers, cool autumns and cold winters. This area is perfect for those who love to watch the seasons change and want to swim in July and ski in December.  Its proximity to Chicago allows you a small town feel with the convenience of an urban center.

For example, if you are looking for a little bit of high end retail therapy then a quick trip to Chicago will allow you to shop at some of the best stores and boutiques in the world. Ford City Mall, The Atrium Mall or The Shops at Northbridge are all chic, urban shopping areas that will occupy you a cold, winter day or a hot summer day.  The Shops at Northbridge is an outdoor shopping area and not an indoor mall so be sure to dress for the weather.  If you are less interested in the “best of the best” and simply want to do a bit of shopping closer to home then you can also check out Northfield Square Mall in Bourbonnais which is home to a variety of department stores as well as a movie theatre and other shops.

If you are more interested in history than shopping then there is plenty to explore in this part of the country.  Of course, there is much culture and history in Chicago.  However, outside of the urban center in the smaller surrounding towns there is just as much to see and learn. For example, for those interested in architecture, nearby Kankakee is a must-see.   The B. Harley Bradley House in Kankakee was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1900. The B. Harley Bradley House marks the beginning of Frank Lloyd Wright's Prairie School period which became Wright's best known style.   You should also visit quaint and beautiful Frankfort.  Their historic downtown is well known for its 1890's charm with unique boutiques, quality restaurants, a children's museum and a wide variety of family-friendly events. Looking for another great way to spend a cold, winter day with the kids and family? The Kankakee County Museum is a wonderful educational opportunity with a wide variety of exhibits, from African American history to World War II history to banking and printing history.  On a nice, spring day you should also walk through the gardens.
