About Tinley Park, IL - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Tinley Park is a suburb of Chicago, IL located in Cook and Will Counties.  In 2009, it was voted “Best Place to Raise a Family” by “Businessweek.”  Why?  There are many reasons.  For one, Tinley Park experiences 4 distinct seasons each year so children can experience the joy of ice cream on a hot summer day as well as sledding in the snow over their Christmas break.  There is much to do in this well-kept and attractive suburb and the whole family can enjoy this town’s charm.

Settlement of the area which now comprises Tinley Park began in the 1820s and, by the 1940s, German settlers became predominant in area, and the village was originally established in 1853 as "Bremen.” In the late 1800s, railroads expanded rapidly, and the village was located in the path of a railroad.  Having a railroad in the town was such a big deal for the village and its citizens, that the name of the town was changed to “Tinley Park” after the town’s first railroad station agent, Samuel Tinley, Sr.  The official incorporate of the village, in 1982, was held at the train depot.  If you are curious about Tinley Park history you will be glad to know that, located in Tinley, you will find the "Old Zion" Lutheran Church, built in 1884.  This is the home of the Tinley Park Historical Society is now known simply as “The Landmark.” You can tour the church and museum every Wednesday and the first Sunday of each month.  If you are looking to pass the time on a particularly hot summer day or cold winter day then this may be a great way to spend a few hours learning all about local history and lore.

Today, Tinley is one of the fastest growing suburbs of Chicago. The downtown area is full of fun and casual, family-friendly restaurants, stores and more.  With a population of just over 50,000, Tinley Park manages to maintain a quaint, small-town feel without being a tiny town.  However, its proximity to Chicago allows the freedom to visit and enjoy a urban outing without having to live in it.  You can shop ‘til you drop and eat at delicious restaurants at the following malls: Ford City Mall, The Atrium Mall or The Shops at Northbridge.  This is an ideal way to spend a cold, snowy day all cozy and warm inside of a heated mall or shop.
